Eight. Several things: 1. Yesterday Brian and I went to a Portland Sea Dogs baseball game. The Sea Dogs are the Red Sox Double A farm team and a handful of the current Sox stars came directly from the Dogs last year. Here's where I sound like a complete dork, but it is very exciting to see players move up through the system and be successful in the majors. We had it all weather-wise: rain, sun, wind. I had a hot dog and fries and both were satisfying, if not totally worth the price I paid for them. 2. Today Brian and I had a cook-out with his parents and brother. It was sunny and on the warm side: just perfect. I ate watermelon, chips, a hot dog, a cheeseburger, macaroni salad and garlic & herb fries. And then I came home and ate baked Cheetos and leftover apple-cinnamon cake I made last night. Surprisingly, my stomach does not hurt. 3. Tomorrow we have nothing planned and that is fine with me. 4. I have a new knitting project. It's a pattern I haven't tried before and the yarn alone is going to cost over $100, but I think the end result will be worth it. No, I know the end result will be spectacular. I am excited to get going, but there is no rush to get started (and um, yeah...$100 is not chump change). 5. I am addicted to Word Twist on Facebook. 6. While Word Twist is the primary reason I log onto Facebook, I have also reconnected with one of my best friends from elementary school. She was the one who showed me where the playground was on the first day of third grade, my first day at the school after my old one closed. I have thought of her often over the years and while I don't see any reunions in my future, I'm happy to know that she is doing well (pregnant with her FOURTH child. Jeezum Crow). 7. My online discussion group is the best. No, really. These women are smart, hilarious, bitchy-in-the-best-way, and always supportive. 8. I have wonderful friends, period. Not a day goes by that I don't offer up thanks for the women in my life. |
