I left my heart in San Jose.

I'm back from my amazing, intense, exhausting, hilariously fun, overwhelming weekend in San Jose. The 14 of us ate, drank, laughed, talked, sang (well, I didn't and that's not a bad thing), ate some more, crafted, basked in the SUN, bonded and ate.

I am EXHAUSTED.

I got four hours or less of sleep Friday, Saturday, Sunday and Monday nights and didn't get home until after midnight last night thanks to United. United is actually on my shit list for several reasons, as they fucked up both ends of my trip. But everything that happened in between was worth the travel trauma.

Today was spent shoveling out the driveway. No, really. We shoveled throughout the day. The heavy wet snow, sleet, ice and rain combined to make for some truly hideous weather. Every time we cleared the driveway, the plow truck would come by and block it again. The branches on our trees are lower than I've ever seen them and now there's a leak in our mudroom (what used to be the attached garage- it's unfinished, but we keep a lot of stuff out there). The snowbanks along the sides of the house are too deep to walk through, as is the snow around the sunporch and the leak is at the back of the house. We'll have to see if we can go out through the basement door and clear some of the snow and ice from that part of the roof. Fun times. Brian is obsessed with all of the snow on the roof and to be honest, so am I. Fingers crossed that this is just a temporary leak and nothing more.

But San Jose...oh, how I love you and your 70 degree days. I cannot do the weekend justice in a recap but it was just what I needed and I am so happy and thankful to have met a group of wonderfully sweet, funny, kind, gorgeous women. Thank you for bringing us all together, Catie.
