Summary of Qualifications.

I'm almost finished updating my resume. Now that's a fun task, listing everything you've done over the last decade and realizing it doesn't amount to much. So much for my young dreams of contributing something valuable to the world, eh? But hey, if you ever need a book recommendation or want to know the title chain of your property, I'm your girl. Je-sus.

Most of the resume how-to articles I've read recently tell me not to do a laundry list of job duties, but to instead focus on my accomplishments. I understand that, but it's hard when you haven't really accomplished anything of note. And I'm being serious here. I've had some great job successes in terms of 'oh wow...I really powered through that line of 20 people waiting at the cash register, eh?' or all of the software bugs I found when I was a tester...or the nasty title problems I've uncovered and fixed. Because, you know, my job was to do all of that. I never brought in the multi-million dollar account, nor did I discover a cure for some ailment. I haven't single-handedly done something so spectacular, I need to sing it from the rooftops.

So my resume is a laundry list of my job responsibilities and I'll see what happens when I start submitting it.
