Lightbulb.

Tonight I bought (finally) a decent address book and a financial organizer. Both are put out by Real Simple. I dig the magazine and so far, I dig these two organizers. I have scraps of addresses and phone numbers scattered all over the place: my previous address book was so outdated, it was worthless. Now I can attempt to keep everything in one place and stop asking the same people yet again for their info. The financial organizer is going to save our asses this year, too. Quicken does nothing for me, but this handy folder will be a lifesaver. I'm a list-maker and a write-it-down kind of person, so a hands-on organizer will work best for me.

Baby steps...right? I'm feeling more in control already. Now I just need to get a container for all of the birthday/holiday/etc cards I buy and never send out. Because I'm a moron like that. Nothing sucks more than finding the perfect card for someone and then losing it. Or forgetting to send it until long after the occasion passes. No more. I'm tired of making myself feel like crap because I forgot (or procrastinated).

Hey! My new mantra of Get Shit Done is working!
